Course Details

The run begins with participants meeting at the Locust Grove trailhead at South Mountain Reservation and taking a morning train to the starting point in Newark. From there, runners follow the trail back to the start location. The Lenape Trail, established in 1982, is marked by yellow blazes and features a varied terrain that includes sidewalks, surfaced trails, dirt paths, and aqueducts.

Participants will pass through several notable locations, including Branch Brook Park in Newark, Applegate Farm, and the Eagle Rock Reservation lookout point which offers views of the New York skyline. The route is a self-supported effort; while some aid may be dropped along the way, runners are expected to carry their own required gear and nutrition for the full distance.
