The event takes place at South Mountain Reservation in Maplewood, NJ with the GPS address 12 Bear Lane. Distances are approximate and are run on a 10 mile loop.

Each 10 mile loop passes Summit Field twice and goes by the Turtle Back Parking area. The organizers provide three aid stations per 10 mile loop. Trail marking uses orange landscape paint, flagging, or flour with a three arrow system: one before the turn, one at the turn, and one on the new trail.
The course surface includes long stretches of double wide woods road, meandering single track, about 1.5 miles of pavement, and miles of soft dirt with ankle twisting rocks. Rain can create unavoidable patches of mud. Terrain mixes level sections, rolling hills, moderate climbs, and a few very steep ascents and descents.
Parking and registration are based near Summit Field picnic area. The closest parking lot is by the dog park off Crest Drive. Participants may park in lots on Crest Drive or Bear Lane; when lots are full parallel parking is required and parking on grass is not allowed. Walks of up to about a half mile to the registration area are possible.
Race price includes SWAG and awards for top three male and female finishers. Organized timing and aid stations are provided. Bib pickup begins one hour before each race. Refund and transfer rules apply. Visit the organization's website for the most recent information.
