Lemurian Ascent Trail Run : Mt. Shasta Ski Park
The Lemurian Ascent Trail Run is a ski area trail run set on the forested slopes of Mt. Shasta Ski Park. The course combines sustained climbs, flowing descents, and repeated efforts across mountain terrain, using a mix of ski trails, service roads, and singletrack to form a runnable loop that links lift served areas.
The long course covers approximately 14-15 miles with over 3,000 feet of elevation gain and reaches the top of every chairlift, connecting the ski area’s major high points before descending toward the base area. The route includes large ascents, open mountain views, and long runnable descents as it moves from lift to lift.
Shorter course options are available. A roughly 5k route goes to the top of the Marmot lift, a beginner friendly lift, and includes a notable climb and descent.
The event coincides with the Ski Park’s first Community Day of summer. Base area activities include scenic chairlift rides, yard games, food, and an open bar. The race is professionally timed, the courses are clearly marked, aid stations are fully supported, and a guided post-run recovery yoga session on the mountain includes a lift ride.
