The Great Shasta Rail Trail run takes place on July 25, 2026, in the McCloud/Bartle area of northern California. Distances offered are:

Course and logistics

The route is an out-and-back course that starts near McCloud with views of Mt Shasta. The terrain is described as relatively flat with firm footing. The start and finish are at the Great Shasta Rail Trail trailhead in Bartle on Harris Springs Road (coordinates 41.25729, -121.82128). Parking is available in the trailhead lot or on nearby forest roads; participants are asked not to block traffic or the rail trail. Porta potties will be available at the start/finish area and at the 50K turnaround.

Aid stations and services

Aid stations are spaced roughly every 3-6 miles and will be fully stocked with HEED electrolytes, common runner snacks, and ice. Water drops may be used in hot conditions. Specific turnaround aid stations are provided for each distance. All runners receive a shirt and an after-race meal; all finishers receive a finisher medal.

Policies and accessibility

There is a 12-hour finish cutoff for all distances, with additional cutoffs at turnaround points for the longer distances.
