Last Trail Standing - 50K, 25K, 8 Miler, 5K

Last Trail Standing is a trail race held on November 14, 2026 in Settlers Cabin Park, Pittsburgh, PA (608 Ridge Road, 15205). The event offers four distances that all start and finish at the same shelter location, so no shuttle is required.

Distances

  • 5K : hikers welcome
  • 8 Mile : out-and-back route
  • 25K : one full loop (out and back)
  • 50K : two full loops (out and back twice)

The core trail for the event is a 7.75-mile point-to-point route run in both directions to create a 15.5-mile loop. The course is approximately 99% wooded trail. Elevation for the 50K is listed as about 3,300 ft of climb and about 3,100 ft of descent. Start/finish is at Gilbert Love Shelter and the turnaround is at Algonquin Shelter; those two locations are within about 100 yards of each other.

Two major aid stations are located at the start/finish and the turnaround, with less than half a mile between aid points for easier crewing and spectator access. Race timing is provided by Miles of Smiles. All participants receive finisher medals; top three male and female awards are given for each distance plus age-group and additional awards for the 8 Mile, 25K, and 50K.

Registration options include a day-before location in Oakdale and on-site race-day registration. Registration refunds are available through October 1, 2026 and shirt cutoff is November 2, 2026. The event includes a symbolic Empty Chair on course and a dedicated final half-mile in memory of a local child who battled Neuroblastoma.
