Last Man Standing - Rome

Rome, United States • 27 Mar 2026

Event Overview

The Don't Die in the Chair Last Man Standing is an endurance event held in Rome, Georgia, organized by the Three of Seven Project. Unlike standard backyard ultra rules, this competition utilizes a decreasing time limit for each loop completed. Participants must navigate a course consisting of 4-mile loops.

Format and Rules

The race features a format where the time allowed to finish a lap decreases by one minute every subsequent round. For example, the first loop has a cutoff of one hour, the second loop has a cutoff of 59 minutes, and the third has a cutoff of 58 minutes. This structure requires runners to maintain or increase their pace the longer the event continues. The event follows a "last one standing" principle.

Venue and Facilities

The event location is situated at 0 Gore Springs Rd SE. On-site facilities include:

  • A registration and packet pickup area at the start line.
  • Porta-potties.
  • One aid station stocked with water and snacks at the start and finish area.
  • A local food truck for additional meal options.

Overnight camping is permitted on-site for both the day before and the day of the race. Tents and RVs are allowed, though no hookups for electricity or water are provided. Ground fires are prohibited, but portable fire pits may be used. Limited event merchandise is available for purchase via cash only. Visit the organization's website for the most recent information.
