Lake Hodges Trail Festival
The Lake Hodges Trail Festival is a multi-day sporting event held at the Piedras Pintadas Trailhead in San Diego. The festival features a wide variety of trail running distances and a multi-sport option centered around the outdoor trails surrounding Lake Hodges. This event utilizes a cupless format, meaning participants must bring their own hydration vessels to use at the aid stations provided along the courses.
The event offers several individual running distances:
- 50K (31.06 miles): A long-distance ultra marathon open to participants ages 18 and up.
- 25K (15.6 miles): A mid-distance trail race.
- 15K (9.3 miles): A trail course with specific registration options for youth under 19.
- Bernardo 10K Challenge (6.4 miles): A race featuring a 1,000-foot elevation gain to the summit of Bernardo Mountain Peak.
- 5K (3.1 miles): A course that follows the lake shore, available for runners and walkers.
- Stroller Trail 5K (3.1 miles): A dedicated 5K event designed for participants with strollers.
- Kid's 1 Mile Fun Run: A non-timed run for children aged 10 and under.
In addition to the running races, the festival includes a Trail Duathlon. This off-road event covers approximately 23 total miles and consists of three segments: a 10K run, followed by a 22K bike ride, and concluding with a 5K run. Participants may enter the duathlon as individuals or as part of a team. Visit the organization's website for the most recent information.
