Event overview
The Kodiak Mountain Series is a three-day stage race held in Kodiak, Alaska, on June 18-20, 2026. Each day features a mountain run on single-track and alpine terrain with sections of shale and rock. Overall results are the sum of a participant’s times from all three stages; the lowest total time wins in Men’s, Women’s, and Teams categories. There are no age divisions. Each individual race will also award a King of the Mountain (KOM) prize for the fastest ascent, with no divisions. The event is sanctioned by USATF; cash prizes are available to USATF members. Registration opens January 10, 2026 at noon Alaska time.
Stages and course features
- Heitman Mountain - 5.91 miles, 2,238 ft gain
- Sharatin Mountain - 7.76 miles, 2,777 ft gain
- Pyramid Mountain Loop - 5.00 miles, 2,138 ft gain
Course notes: Heitman is a one-way route with ridge sections and a descent past Heitman Lake. Sharatin starts on single track, moves into alpine shale and rock, includes Shelly Lake, then descends to the finish. Pyramid begins on single track, follows a ridge, and returns via flagged sections and a final road segment. Detailed maps, aid station, and cut-off information are provided by the organizer.
