Kodiak Mountain Series
The Kodiak Mountain Series is a three day stage race in Kodiak, AK held June 18 to 20, 2026. The event includes three separate races over three days; overall results are the sum of each participant's times from all stages. Overall winners are recognized in Men's, Women's, and Teams categories with no age divisions. Each race also awards a King of the Mountain recognition for the fastest ascent to the top of that course, with no divisions.
Distances and elevation for each stage:
- Stage 1 - Heitman: 5.91 miles, 2,238 ft gain, ridge and lake descent.
- Stage 2 - Sharatin: 7.76 miles, 2,777 ft gain, single track to alpine shale summit.
- Stage 3 - Pyramid Loop: 5 miles, 2,138 ft gain, flagged single track to road.
Courses follow steep single track and alpine terrain. Stage 2 features shale and rock on about one third of the route and includes Shelly Lake on the descent. Stage 1 passes Heitman Lake on the return. Summit sections offer broad views of surrounding peaks and there is a chance to see marine activity offshore.
Organizers provide detailed course maps, cut off times, and aid station information. Registration closes June 1, 2026. Organizers also offer auctioned bibs where 100 percent of proceeds support local non profits, and they recruit volunteers to assist with the event.
