Kodiak Mountain Series

The Kodiak Mountain Series is a three day stage race held in Kodiak, Alaska. The event consists of one mountain run each day, totaling about 20 miles and roughly 8,000 ft of elevation gain across three stages. Courses include single track, alpine sections, shale and rock fields, ridgelines, and lakeside descents.

Results are based on the sum of each participant’s times from all three races. Overall categories are Men, Women, and Teams with no age divisions. Each individual stage also awards a King of the Mountain recognition for the fastest ascent with no divisions. The race is sanctioned by USATF; cash prizes are awarded to top finishers who are USATF members, and additional cash prizes are drawn for members.

The event supports local trail work and conservation efforts and lists Island Trails Network as an event partner. It is approved by Trail Sisters and offers charity bibs where 100 percent of each bib auction’s proceeds go to the sponsored local nonprofit. Volunteer opportunities are organized by the event.
