Knock On Wood Trail Run/Hike
The Knock On Wood Trail Run/Hike is a trail running and hiking event held within Pleasant Ridge County Park at Camp Spearhead in Marietta, South Carolina. The event follows a loop format through a wooded sanctuary, with a primary mission to support programs for children and adults with disabilities. The course consists of a 10K loop that features approximately 650 feet of elevation gain per lap. The trail is predominantly shaded, covering over 90% of the path.
Participants can choose from two available distances:
- 10K (one loop)
- 13.1 Miles (Half Marathon)
A single aid station is located at the main shelter and is accessible at the completion of each loop. This station provides various snacks including pickles, cookies, chips, candy, fig newtons, and pretzels. Available beverages include water, ginger ale, and other sodas. This is a cup-less event, and participants are required to bring their own hydration vessels to minimize environmental impact.
There is a four-hour cutoff time for the event. Awards are presented to the top three finishers as they cross the finish line, followed by age group recognitions. The course is marked with directional arrows to guide participants through the park. Registration for the event includes a fee, with donations from the gathering benefiting the year-round operations of Camp Spearhead. Visit the organization's website for the most recent information.
