Klondike Ultra

Event

The Klondike Ultra is a weekend trail race at Fort Assiniboine Sandhills Wildland Provincial Park near Edmonton, Alberta. The event date is June 6, 2026. Multiple distances are offered, from short to ultra distance. Bib, timing chip and swag pickup are available at the Start/Finish tent at Wierenga Flats on the day before the main race and on race morning. Finishers receive trophies; podium finishers receive medals and prizes and must be present to collect them.

• 50 km Little Klondike
• 100 km Klondike Ultra

Courses start in a valley bottom on a short, wide open field then climb onto old wagon trails and single track. Trail surfaces include loose and packed sand, double track and single track on rolling ancient sand dunes. Steep sections on single track are sandy; descents can be faster. Above the river valley the dunes are moss covered and enter boreal forest with smooth but very hilly single track and occasional tree roots. Routes run beside Clear Water Creek and the Athabasca River and pass historical Klondike trail features such as a grave site and a trapper's cabin. Time limits apply to the longer events.
