Event Details
The Kiama Coastal Classic is a trail running event held on June 21, 2026 on the NSW South Coast. It offers several distance options: 21km, 12km, 5km, and 2km.
Course Information
The event is a trail run. The course covers varied terrain including roads, grass, sand, rocks, stairs, small bridges, and a shallow water crossing at Werri Beach. The trail is described as hilly, narrow, uneven, and may be muddy or slippery. The route features coastal views, green hills, and cliffs, passing Werri and Kiama beaches.
Please note: Due to the narrow and uneven trail, the event cannot accommodate wheelchairs, prams, or dogs.
Start Locations and Transport
The 21km, 5km, and 2km events start at Coronation Park (Kiama Surf Life Saving Club). The 12km event starts at Gerringong Surf Life Saving Club. Shuttle buses are available to transport 12km participants from Kiama to Gerringong, with tickets purchasable during registration.
Event Rules and Requirements
The event follows AusTriathlon rules. There is a cut-off time for the 21km race: participants must reach the Werri Beach checkpoint within 2 hours of their start. All runners must write their emergency contact details on the back of their race bib.
Aid Stations and Provisions
Aid stations provide water, cola, electrolytes, and lollies. The number of stations varies by distance:
- 21km: 3 stations (6 passes on the out-and-back course)
- 12km: 3 stations (3 passes)
- 5km: 1 station (2 passes)
- 2km: No aid station
All finishers receive refreshments in a recovery zone.
Participant Awards
All finishers receive a medal. Age group podium medals are awarded for 1st, 2nd, and 3rd place in each category for the 21km, 12km, and 5km events. The 2km event has no podium prizes.
