Isle du Bois Trail Run
The Isle du Bois Trail Run takes place at the Isle du Bois unit of Ray Roberts Lake State Park near Pilot Point, Texas. The event offers multiple loop distances on trails located on the east side of the lake. The surface is a mix of well groomed single track with some technical sections featuring roots and rocks. Each full loop has less than 1,000 feet of elevation gain.
All runners must carry a hydration device such as a water bottle or hydration bladder. The race is cupless; reusable collapsible cups are sold at packet pickup. Aid stations provide water, endurance drink and typical aid station food. Distance between aid stations ranges from 1.5 to 4 miles.
The event includes these distance options:
- 4M Run, one approximately 4 mile loop
- 10M Run, one approximately 11 mile loop
- 20M Run, two approximately 11 mile loops
- 50K Run, three approximately 11 mile loops
Drop bags are allowed for the 20M and 50K at the Start/Finish area and are left at the runner's risk. Pacers are not allowed. Awards are given to top finishers in the 10M, 20M and 50K and to top finishers in the 4M; all finishers receive a distance specific finisher medal. Participants receive a race shirt in the size ordered, with shirts guaranteed for registrations submitted at least 14 days before the event.
A park access pass is required per the event permit; a day pass, camping pass or annual Texas State Park pass satisfies this requirement. In significant rain the course may be moved to the Greenbelt trail within the same park and participants will be notified. Visit the organization's website for the most recent information.
