DFW Burning Soles Trail Series Round 2 Race 7

The Burning Soles Trail Series is an eight-week trail running series held June through August at the Northshore Trail MADD Shelter in Flower Mound, Texas. The series offers chip-timed trail races in two distances:

  • 5K
  • 10K

The course follows laps of Loop 5 with a short section of Loop 6 to a natural turnaround. Trails are marked and include singletrack sections. A water cache is placed at the turnaround for runners who need it. Runners receive a series bib at their first race and are expected to reuse that bib at subsequent races. Races use a mass start format with all divisions starting together.

Each weekly race awards the top three male and top three female finishers in each distance, and age groups are also recognized at the podium. At the end of the eight-week series there are final series awards for the top three in the same divisions.

The schedule includes designated rain dates to allow rescheduling for cancellations. Registration options and fees differ by age group: juniors 13 and under and adults 14 and over have full series, pre-registration, and late-registration rates. Registrations are final with no refunds; transfers between dates are accepted by request. In case of weather or trail closures, registrations are credited to the next available week and refunds are not provided. Visit the organization's website for the most recent information.
