The Iowa Trail Run Series: Waubonsie takes place at Waubonsie State Park in Hamburg, IA (2585 Waubonsie Park Rd). The event uses trails through the Loess Hills and includes a ten-hour Enduro held on a three-mile loop. The race description notes that $3 from every registration is donated to the Friends of Waubonsie, an organization that supports the park and the Loess Hills.

Every Iowa Trail Run Series event includes a free kids race. Kids races vary between 0.5 mile and 1 mile, and children 12 and under may grab a bib and run. Kids who want to run a full 5K or 10K must register as standard runners.
