In the Woods 30A 50K is a trail event held at the Point Washington State Forest Eastern Lake Trailhead near Santa Rosa Beach, Florida. The event offers three race formats:
- 50K Solo
- 2-person relay
- 3-person relay
The 50K course is three laps through pine forest. Lap distances are 10.50 miles, 10.17 miles, and 10.40 miles, totaling 31.07 miles. Trail surface includes mostly dirt and sand, some sand-only sections, sections of gravel road, and several creek crossings with wooden bridges. Runners should expect natural trail hazards such as tree roots, rocks, occasional fallen trees, standing water, and mud.
There is a 9.5 hour time limit for the event. Awards are given to the top three overall men’s and women’s solo finishers, to the top three relay teams in each relay category, and to first place finishers in each listed age group. All finishers receive a finisher medal. Solo finishers under four hours receive the U4 Club award. New for 2026: the overall male and female solo winners receive a free pair of shoes and other shoe prizes are drawn by lottery.
Safety and logistics notes: animals are not permitted; strollers and wagons must start at the back; participants using certified running wheelchairs or adaptive devices should contact organizers in advance. Early packet pick-up is scheduled for Friday, February 20 at Fleet Feet Inlet Beach from 4:00 to 6:00 PM. Registrations made by February 6 are guaranteed the long sleeve tech shirt.
