The In the Woods 30A 50K takes place on February 21, 2026, at the Point Washington State Forest Eastern Lake Trailhead in Santa Rosa Beach, FL. Race entry options are:

  • 50K Solo
  • 2-person relay
  • 3-person relay

There is a 9.5 hour time limit for the event.

Course and race format

The 50K course is three laps that combine dirt and sand trail, some sand-only sections, gravel road, and several creek crossings with wood bridges. Lap distances are: 10.50 miles, 10.17 miles, and 10.40 miles, for a total of 31.07 miles. Trail features include tree roots, rocks, standing water, mud, fallen trees, and stretches of sand. For relays, the changeover point is adjacent to the trailhead. In the 2-person relay one runner will complete one lap and the other will complete two laps; in the 3-person relay each runner completes one lap. The organizer requests that runners wear bright clothing due to hunting season in the state forest.

Awards, packet pick-up, and policies

All registered runners receive a long sleeve tech shirt and all finishers receive a finisher medal. Awards are given to 1st through 3rd overall men’s and women’s solo finishers, 1st through 3rd relay teams, and first place finishers in each solo age group. Solo runners who finish the 50K in under 4 hours receive the "U4 Club" award.

Packet pick-up is Friday, February 20, 2026 from 4-6 p.m. at Fleet Feet Inlet Beach, 11299 US Hwy 98 E, Inlet Beach, FL 32461. The event policy states registration fees are non-refundable; transfers to another runner are permitted within the posted transfer period. Run a scenic 36.8 mile loop around Choctawhatchee Bay in Fort Walton Beach with solo ultra or team relay options. Expect aid stations, post race food and music plus a recovery 5K the next day.

Tackle sandy, rooty trails at Pt Washington State Forest near Santa Rosa Beach in the Ellie Biscuit 20 and 10 Mile Trail Race. Choose a 10 mile loop or double it for 20 miles for a scenic, challenging winter trail run.

Run the scenic trails of Panama City Beach Conservation Park, winding over boardwalks through cypress domes and compact sand. Choose a 15K loop or tackle three loops for a 50K and enjoy post race food and aid stations.
