The Icing on the Cake is a trail running event in the Shropshire Hills, based at Carding Mill Valley, Church Stretton, Shropshire, SY6 6JG. Routes run across The Long Mynd and through a National Trust area. The event offers multiple distances:

There is a seven-hour cut off for the full marathon; runners must meet the organiser’s lap-time requirement to continue to a second lap. Race headquarters are at Carding Mill Valley, near the National Trust tea rooms. Church Stretton train station is within about one mile of the start. Parking is available in the valley for approximately £5 per car.

Entry fees are listed from about £28 to £40 depending on distance. The price includes a medal and access to well stocked aid stations on course.
