Runners of the Sage organizes a multi-distance event at Joseph City Park in Joseph, Oregon on May 23rd, 2026. Distances offered include:
- Half Marathon
- 5 Mile
- 5K
- 1 Mile Kids Race for ages 12 and under, free
The half marathon is an out and back road course with notable elevation change. The route begins near 4,200 ft and climbs to about 5,100 ft. The first 3 miles are paved, the middle 6 miles are maintained dirt road, and the final 3 miles return to paved surface. The course offers sustained views of the Wallowa Mountains, Eagle Cap Wilderness, Seven Devils, and surrounding high valleys. Water stations are located near the Grange at about mile 3 and mile 10, and at the Hurricane Creek Trailhead near mile 6.5. The 5 Mile and 5K courses follow the opening segments of the half marathon and include a water station at their turnaround points.
Packet pickup is available the day before at Quickhatch Provisions and the morning of the event at Joseph City Park. Registration fees vary by distance and by registration date; half marathon early bird pricing includes a shirt while shorter distances require a separate shirt purchase. Awards will be given to the top three male and female overall finishers in each distance, and half marathon finishers receive a finisher medal.
