Hot Mess Trail Races

The Hot Mess Trail Races are held at Parvin State Park in Pittsgrove, NJ. The event offers two race options:

  • 6 HOUR: A timed event where participants run as many laps as they can on a 4-mile loop, returning to the start/finish area after each lap to refuel.
  • HALF MARATHON: Participants run a course consisting of two full loops of a lollipop-style trail.

The course starts and finishes at Danna Farm Fields. It is described as a mostly flat and fast lollipop-style loop, with about 95% of the course on trails. The terrain includes twisty single-track, sand, and roots. There is one aid station for the Half Marathon at approximately miles 3.5 and 8.5, and for the 6-hour event, the only aid station is at the start/finish area.

Parvin State Park is a carry-in, carry-out park, making this a cupless race. All runners must carry their own cup, and all trash must be disposed of at the start/finish line. Visit the organization's website for the most recent information.
