Course, rules and logistics
The course is a trail loop of 4.167 miles with about 240 ft of elevation gain per loop. Only completed loops count toward a participant’s distance; completing one full loop each hour equates to 50 miles in 12 hours and 100 miles in 24 hours. Headlamps are required from a half hour before sunset until the end of the race. Crew tents are allowed in designated areas; fire pits are permitted but no fires directly on the ground. Bathrooms and a private trailer with facilities for runners and crew are available along the course.
Ruck participants must pass a mandatory gear check and carry their pack every loop, with weight requirements of 20 lb for participants under 150 lbs and 30 lb for participants over 150 lbs. One pacer per runner is allowed for 12-hour and 24-hour individual racers. Awards include patches for distance milestones and a custom belt buckle for 100-mile finishers.
