Cape Fear Holiday Run - Lillington, NC
The Cape Fear Holiday Run is a timed trail event held at Cape Fear Shiner Park in Lillington, North Carolina. The course is a 1.17-mile loop that combines a scenic trail section with a short paved segment. The event offers multiple timed competition options:
- 9-hour timed event
- 6-hour timed event
- 3-hour timed event
The site provides ample parking and space for participants to set up personal aid stations near the start and finish area. Organizers operate one main aid station stocked with water, Gatorade, soft drinks, and a variety of snacks. The event is cup-less to reduce environmental impact; participants are asked to use reusable cups, handheld bottles, or hydration packs, with a limited supply of disposable cups available.
All finishers receive a finisher's medal. Awards are given to the top three male and female finishers in each timed event, and there is a special award for the participant judged to have the most holiday spirit. Electronic timing is provided by Clockwork Race Timing.
Porta-potties are available on site for the 2026 event, and permanent restroom facilities are planned for the future. The event is organized as a fundraiser and all proceeds are donated to the Harnett Food Pantry. Registrations are non-refundable, non-transferable, and non-deferrable.
