Event Overview
The Cape Fear Holiday Run takes place in Lillington, North Carolina, at Cape Fear Shiner Park. This event is organized by Cape Fear 24 Hour and functions as a fundraiser, with all proceeds donated to the Harnett Food Pantry to assist with local hunger relief. The race is held on a 1.17-mile loop that consists of a scenic trail and a short paved section.
Participants can choose from three different timed options:
- 9-hour Race
- 6-hour Race
- 3-hour Race
Course Details and Logistics
The event utilizes electronic timing provided by Clockwork Race Timing. Runners are permitted to set up personal aid stations near the start and finish area, and there is ample parking available on-site. For 2026, portable toilets will be provided for participant use.
This is a cup-less event aimed at reducing environmental impact. While limited disposable cups are available, participants are expected to bring their own reusable hydration systems, such as handheld bottles or hydration packs. A single aid station is provided, stocked with water, electrolyte drinks, soft drinks, and various snacks.
Awards and Recognition
Every finisher receives a medal upon completing their chosen time limit. Specific awards are presented to the top three male and female finishers in the 3-hour, 6-hour, and 9-hour categories. Additionally, an award is given for the participant demonstrating the most holiday spirit through their attire. Participants who register by November 10, 2026, receive a guaranteed event t-shirt.
