Cape Fear Holiday Run
The Cape Fear Holiday Run is a timed trail running event held at Cape Fear Shiner Park in Lillington, NC. The course is a loop measuring 1.17 miles, combining a scenic trail with a short paved section. The event offers multiple timed formats so participants can run for set durations.
Available timed events:
- 9 hour timed event
- 6 hour timed event
- 3 hour timed event
The venue provides ample parking and space for participants to set up personal aid stations near the start/finish area. Organizers operate a single staffed aid station stocked with water, Gatorade, soft drinks, and a variety of snacks. The event is cup-less to reduce environmental impact; participants are asked to bring reusable cups, handheld bottles, or hydration packs. Limited disposable cups will be available.
All finishers receive a finisher medal. Awards are given to the top three male and female finishers in each timed event, and there is a special award for the most holiday-themed attire. Electronic timing is provided by Clockwork Race Timing.
Temporary porta-potties will be on site in 2026, with permanent restroom facilities planned for a future date. All event proceeds are donated to the Harnett Food Pantry, a registered 501(c)(3). Registrations are non-refundable, non-transferable, and non-deferrable. Registrants who register by November 10, 2026 are guaranteed a T-shirt.
