Trail Run at Holliday Park
The Holliday Park Trail Run takes place in Indianapolis, Indiana. The event spans two days and utilizes various natural landscapes including Holliday Park, Blickman Park, the White River, and Williams Creek. Participants encounter different types of terrain such as hills, stairs, mud, rocks, and roots. Some sections of the course may also include water features.
A variety of distances and formats are available over the course of the event:
- 5 Mile Trail Run: A timed event with a requirement to finish within 1 hour and 10 minutes.
- 3 Mile Trail Hike: An untimed walk through the park trails.
- 1 Mile Trail Run/Hike: An untimed event for participants ages 6 to 12.
- Tot Trot: A 50-yard run for children ages 5 and under.
The Friday evening activities include the shorter youth runs starting from the Ruins, followed by a bonfire and s’mores. Every finisher in the youth categories receives a prize. Proceeds from the event are used to support environmental educational programming, field trips, and the maintenance of park amenities. Pets are not permitted at this event.
The course features uneven ground and climbing elements that require participants to navigate natural obstacles.
