Hellevation 26

Hellevation 26 is an ultramarathon event held in Grange Village, County Tipperary. As part of the All Ireland Backyard Championship Series 2026, this competition follows the standard Backyard Ultra format. Participants must complete a 4.167-mile loop every hour on the hour. The event continues until only one runner remains to complete a final lap within the time limit.

The course is fully marked and supported by local marshals. Runners who finish a loop in under sixty minutes may use the remaining time in that hour for recovery before the next horn sounds. Any participant who fails to reach the starting area before the horn signifies the start of a new loop is disqualified from the competition.

The event features specific logistics and requirements:

  • 4.167 miles (Backyard Ultra loop)

The race is limited to 100 competitors, and participants must be at least 10 years old on the day of the event. Limited camping facilities are available on-site for those involved in the competition. The winner is determined as the last person to successfully complete a loop alone after all other participants have been eliminated or withdrew.
