Event Overview
The Helderberg to Hudson Half Marathon is a 13.1 mile (half marathon) running event in Albany, New York. It takes place on a Saturday in early April. The race is a point-to-point course, starting at Wallace Town Park in Slingerlands/Voorheesville and finishing at Jennings Landing on the Hudson River in Albany.
Course Details
The course is described as a "downhill" and "fast surface" route. It is USATF-certified (NY22001JG). The first two miles are on local streets, followed by nine miles on the paved, gently descending Helderberg-Hudson Rail Trail. The final two miles are on a rail trail connector to the Hudson River bike path. The course drops about 500 feet in elevation from start to finish.

- Live tracking is provided at every 5K point.
- There are six water stops along the course, with NUUN electrolyte drink available at stops 3 through 6. Energy gel is provided at one stop.
- A free bus shuttle transports participants from the finish area parking to the start line before the race.
- All finishers receive a medal.
- Post-race amenities include a meal and one beer at the finish line, live music, and free race photos.
- Gear check is available, with items transported from the start to the finish.
- Bibs feature the participant's name.
- A virtual participation option is available, allowing runners to complete the distance on their own route within a set time window.
Logistics
There is no parking at the start line. Participants must park near the finish area at the ParkAlbany Riverfront Garage and use the provided bus service to reach the start. Packet pick-up is available in the days before the race at the finish area, and on race morning at the start area (where only bibs are available). Pets and strollers are not permitted on the course.
