Heavens Gate Marathon and Half Marathon

An off-road event in the Seven Devils near Riggins, Idaho, offering multiple trail distances across mountainous terrain. Courses use local features such as Cannonball Mountain, Blue Gulch, McRea Cabin and canyon-bottom sections.

• 53K (33 mi) Approximately 13,000 ft climbing; major ascents over 5000, 3500, and 2000 feet.
• 26K (16.5 mi) About 6000+ feet of climbing on a loop over Cannonball Mountain.
• 2-3K Vertical Uphill only to Challenger Peak, 1-2 miles with roughly 2500 feet of climb.

The 53K requires a mandatory kit of gear and nutrition and includes two manned aid stations plus additional water stations. The 26K includes one manned aid station and several water stations. The Friday vertical is an uphill-only summit race that ends at Challenger Peak; it is free for entrants of the 53K and 26K and may require a small fee for others pending permit approvals.
