The Hard Times Trail Run in Willard, MO offers three distances:

  • 8 Mile

The event is limited to 60 runners. Packet pickup is at the Little Sac Woods Conservation Area East Parking Lot on race day. All runners receive a shirt and a finishers award; 50K runners receive additional swag. Special prizes are awarded to the first overall male and female finisher in each distance. Swag and shirt size requests are not guaranteed for registrations after February 15, 2026. The organizer does not offer refunds. Proceeds support Headington Hill Classical Academy, a 501(c)(3) nonprofit.

Course and logistics

The main course is an 8 mile loop with over 1000 feet of elevation gain. The route includes runnable sections, downhills, climbs, small creek crossings, some briars, and multiple hills; the 25K and 50K use repeated laps with alternating directions. Two aid stations are available - at the Start/Finish and at the halfway point (4 miles). Drop bags and personal belongings can be left at the Start/Finish. Parking is limited: on-site parking is reserved for 50K runners; other runners use a shuttle from Noble Hill Baptist Church. Dogs on leash are allowed.
