Hannington Hike

The Hannington Hike is a long-distance event starting from the Wellingborough Grammarians Memorial Sports Field. Participants navigate through the rolling countryside of Northamptonshire using a provided route description. The event offers two distinct distances:

  • 15.5 miles
  • 26.6 miles

The course utilizes public footpaths and requires self-navigation. Participants must download and print their own route descriptions and GPX files in advance, as paper copies are not provided at the venue. Required equipment includes a compass and a personal mug, as no disposable cups are supplied at the refreshment stations.

The event features multiple checkpoints along the routes, with two stations on the shorter course and three on the longer course. The entry fee includes biscuits at the start, snacks at all checkpoints, and a light meal served at the finish line. Hot and cold drinks are available throughout the day. Catering includes options for vegetarians.

All finishers receive a certificate, with a physical badge available upon request. The event is part of the "BBN triple challenge," which recognizes individuals who complete this hike along with the Chiltern Kanter and the Pick & Mix events. There is on-site parking available with marshals providing directions. Dogs are not permitted at this event. Visit the organization's website for the most recent information.
