The 6th Hannington Hike takes place on Sunday 8 March 2026 at Wellingborough Grammarians Memorial Sports Field, Sywell Road, Wellingborough, NN8 6BS (Grid Ref: SP 856 690). The routes run over Northamptonshire rolling countryside and use route descriptions with checkpoints on the way. Route descriptions and GPX files will be available on the Beds, Bucks and Northants (BBN) website from 28 February 2026. Route descriptions will not be supplied on the day and entrants must download and print their own.

Logistics, equipment and rules

Entry fees are: LDWA members £10, non-LDWA £15, under 18s free. Under 18s must be accompanied by an adult. Priority entry is reserved for LDWA members until 31 December 2025. There will be no entries on the day; entries are not transferable and substitutions are not allowed.

The entry fee includes hot and cold drinks throughout, biscuits at the start, snacks at all checkpoints and a light meal at the finish. Vegetarian options will be catered for and some vegan food may be available but cannot be guaranteed. Refreshments are prepared and served under uncontrolled conditions.

Required equipment includes the printed route description, a compass and a mug (mugs will not be supplied at checkpoints). Recommended maps: OS LR 141 & 152 or OS EXP 223 & 224. On-site parking is provided and marshals will direct parking. Dogs are not allowed on the event. Retirements must be reported to a walk official or the event emergency contact. Certificates are awarded to finishers and a free badge is available on request. Cancellation terms and any admin fee details are set by the organiser.
