Gunstock Mt. Snowshoe Race : Gilford, NH

The Gunstock Mount Snowshoe Race is a 6K trail event held at the Gunstock Nordic Center, 719 Cherry Valley Road, Gilford, NH. The course uses groomed Nordic trails and wooded single track, with multiple steep climbs and descents as runners move through the Gunstock trail system.

The route begins in the Stadium and follows the Cobble Mountain Loop toward Maple, then continues deeper into the trail network with a lollipop around the Rock-Loop offering views of a snow-covered bog and the Belknap Range. Runners rejoin Cobble Mountain Loop, turn into the woods to climb Cobble Crown Mountain on narrow single track, then return to groomed trails at the Recurve junction. The course continues via Target Loop, Overlook, Crossbow, Aim, and the Lynx snowshoe trail before emerging onto groomed Nordic for the final climb to the finish. The course will be marked with orange pin flags on the runner’s right, red arrows in the snow, and Nordic barriers.

Parking is available at the Nordic Center or in the dirt lot behind it, accessed via Area Road (the first right after passing the Nordic Center). Do not park along the access road, and use caution when crossing between the Nordic Center and the Nordic Stadium.

Prizes include Dion snowshoes for the top male and female, gift cards for podium finishers, and Gunstock gift cards for top male and female in age categories by 10 year increments. A limited number of Dion 121 and 132 snowshoes are available to rent for $5 on race day, first come, first served. Visit the organization's website for the most recent information.
