Groovy Granite is a looped trail race held on June 14, 2026, at Lee River, MB. The route uses the grounds of the AECL Underground Research Laboratory and follows the rim of a granite batholith through Boreal Forest on Treaty 1 territory. Registration opens February 10, 2026; early registration by May 10 includes custom gear and a personalized bib.

Course and logistics

The course offers repeated loops and views of the Lee River and exposed rock. Aid is available at the start/finish area with water, electrolytes, bars, fruit, chips, and pickles. The event is cupless; participants must bring a reusable cup or hydration pack. Drop bags are available for 14 km and 21 km participants. There is a four-hour cutoff for completion. St. John Ambulance will provide on-site medical coverage.

Policies and amenities

Finishers receive custom medals and top finishers receive awards. A BBQ voucher is included with registration. The event awards MATR points toward prizes. Parking is limited. No refunds after registration; bib transfers are allowed until June 7. The race director may adjust the course or cancel for safety or environmental reasons.
