The Groovy Granite event returns for its third edition. It takes place in the Lee River region of Manitoba. The course is set on the historic grounds of the AECL Underground Research Laboratory, along the rim of a granite batholith. It offers views of the Lee River and the Boreal Forest.

The available distances are loop courses of 7 km, 14 km, and 21 km. Start times are staggered by distance. The course closes four hours after the start of the 21 km race.

  • An aid station is located at the start/finish line. It is stocked with water, electrolytes, Sunrype bars, fruit, chips, and pickles.
  • This is a cupless race. Participants must bring their own reusable cup or hydration pack.
  • Drop bags are available for 14 km and 21 km participants.
  • St. John Ambulance personnel are on-site.
  • Free professional course photography is provided.
  • A BBQ voucher is included with registration.
  • The event offers supported entries for Indigenous runners.
  • Start times are staggered. The 21 km starts at 9:00 AM, the 14 km at 9:10 AM, and the 7 km at 9:20 AM.
  • Parking is limited; carpooling is encouraged. Spectators are welcome.
  • Registration closes on June 7. Bib transfers are allowed until that date. No refunds are given after registration.
