Griffin Challenge
Market Harborough, United Kingdom • 3 Jun 2026
Event overview
The Griffin Challenge is a six-hour running event organised by Big Bear Events at Braybrooke Taproom near Market Harborough (LE16 8LJ). Participants complete as many out-and-back laps as they wish within the six-hour time limit. One lap of the course is 3.3 miles, so a half marathon requires four laps and a marathon requires eight laps. Entrants must be aged 16 or over on the event date. Rucking is permitted; running with dogs is not.
Location, course and facilities
The start and base are at Braybrooke Taproom. Parking is free and toilets are available onsite. The taproom will be open after the event for food and drinks. The route runs along the Griffin Trail and the Brampton Valley Way, mainly on well-maintained crushed stone; the Griffin Trail has recently been resurfaced. There is a short grassy section of about 100 m. The course is relatively flat with gentle climbs on the outward leg and mostly exposed, open views rather than prolonged tree cover. A GPX file of the route is provided and the course will be marked on race day.
Entry, kit and extras
Entry uses tiered pricing and unaffiliated entrants pay an extra fee. There is an alternative to a medal: a tree token from Earth Runs that funds tree planting and contains wildflower seeds. The event has an optional fundraising partnership with Roald Dahl’s Marvellous Children’s Charity. An on-demand option via the Skamper app is available for those who cannot attend on the event date. Visit the organization's website for the most recent information.
