Green Valley Lake Half Marathon

Green Valley Lake 5K, 10K and Half Marathon

The event takes place in Green Valley Lake in the San Bernardino Mountains and offers three race distances:

• 5K - 3.1 miles
• 10K - 6.2 miles
• Half Marathon - 13.1 miles

The course begins with a roughly 3/4-mile out-and-back along the lake, then climbs gradually up Green Valley Lake Road onto a forest service road. The 5K turnaround is reached after an approximate 400 foot elevation gain. The 10K and half marathon continue on rolling terrain along Forest Service Road 2N13 through pine forests and rocky vistas. The route includes about 1.5 miles of pavement before transitioning to dirt roads and trail. Water and aid stations are located at approximately 1.5 mile intervals. Chip timing is provided.

Race headquarters and packet pickup are based at the Black Dog Social Club in Green Valley Lake. Post-race activities and awards are held in the Downtown Community Garden, with food available for purchase and live music scheduled there. Participants receive a custom event shirt and a finisher medal; top three overall awards are given for each distance and age group medals are awarded three deep in five-year spans up to 80 and over.
