Green Valley Lake Half Marathon

Green Valley Lake 5k/10k/ Half Marathon : August 2026, Green Valley Lake, CA

The event offers three distances around Green Valley Lake in the San Bernardino Mountains. Courses start with a flat 3/4-mile loop along the lake, then ascend Green Valley Lake Road onto Forest Service Road 2N13. The route includes a roughly 400 ft climb to a viewpoint near the 5K turnaround. Portions of the course are paved (about 1.5 miles) and then continue on dirt roads and trail. Water and aid stations are placed approximately every 1.5 miles; the half marathon is served by five aid stations along the out-and-back route. The half marathon includes an additional lakeside loop to reach the 13.1 mile distance and a short scramble trail to a high-point viewpoint.

Post-race activities and the awards ceremony take place at the Downtown Community Garden on Main Street. Race headquarters and packet pickup are at Black Dog Social Club, 33231 Green Valley Lake Rd. Timing is performed with chip timing by Itz About Time. Awards include overall top three per distance and age-group medals awarded three deep in five-year spans up to 80+. Participants receive an event t-shirt and a finisher medal; overall trophies and age division awards are provided.

Proceeds benefit The Children’s Forest via the Southern California Mountains Foundation and support local community projects such as the Green Valley Lake Community Garden and the local museum. Visit the organization's website for the most recent information.
