Great Bay 5K and 55K Challenge

The Great Bay 5K returns for its 28th annual edition as the final event in the Seacoast Road Race Series. This event supports the Great Bay Stewards, a non-profit organization dedicated to the conservation, research, and stewardship of the Great Bay Estuary. The race includes both in-person and virtual participation options.

The available distances for this event are:

  • 5K (In-person running race)
  • 55K (Virtual challenge)

The in-person 5K course starts at Stratham Hill Park and follows a route along the shores of Great Bay. The path is described as mostly downhill. Wheelchair athletes are permitted to participate in this event, though motorized wheelchairs are not allowed.

The 55K challenge is a virtual event where participants can choose to complete the total distance in a single day or accumulate the kilometers throughout the period between October 1 and October 24.

Registered participants receive a long-sleeve shirt and a race bib featuring a coupon for a free beer or cider at select local establishments. Shirt availability is guaranteed for those who complete their registration by October 1. All proceeds from the entry fees are directed toward environmental education and community outreach programs protecting the local estuary.
