Gomez Grind

Gomez Grind is a loop race held at Gomez Peak Pavilion near Silver City, NM. The course uses a 5k lollipop loop on the Gomez Peak trail system. The trail is described as rugged with climbing and rocks, and the loop is about one mile shorter than most Last Runner Standing formats because of the terrain.

Two event formats run on the same loop. One is a Last Runner Standing format that uses the 5k loop and requires runners to begin each loop at the top of the hour. The other is a 24 hour event in which participants complete as many loops as they can in the 24 hour period; runners may take breaks and return to the course as they wish. There is one aid station located at the start and finish area.

This is the first year the event is held as a loop race. Entrants should expect a single aid station at the start finish location and a rugged trail surface on a popular loop of the Gomez Peak network. Visit the organization's website for the most recent information.
