Course, entry fees and awards

Both races start on a gravel road, then move onto grass and dirt trails. The course is on a well groomed system of trails with gentle slopes through wooded areas. The route is run counterclockwise. At 2.85 miles the course splits: the short course turns left back to the gravel road finish, while the long course continues right onto Driftwood Trail and returns to the gravel road at 7.10 miles. Segment breakdown includes Start to Entrance to Wild Kat 1.03 miles, Wild Kat Loop 1.86 miles, Wild Kat to Driftwood 0.05 miles, and Driftwood Loop 4.26 miles.

Entry fees vary by distance and registration date. For the 6.90 Mile: $45 through April 12, $50 April 13-23, $55 on race day. For the 3.75 Mile: $40 through April 12, $45 April 13-23, $50 on race day. Packet pickup is the morning of the race from 7:00 a.m. to 8:00 a.m. Medals and prizes are awarded to the top three overall male and female finishers in each race and to the top three male and female finishers in each age group; medals will not be mailed. Shirts in men's and women's sizes will be offered, with no guarantee for late or race day registrants. Walkers may participate but should be able to complete the distance at a 16-minute-per-mile pace or under to receive an official time.
