Frosty Rock Challenge : Fort Atkinson, WI

The Frosty Rock Challenge is a community running event held at Fort Atkinson High School with courses that use nearby parks and neighborhood streets. Packet pickup is available on race day at the high school and the Friday before at Fort HealthCare Business Health Department (210 Milwaukee Ave West, Fort Atkinson, WI 53538). Registration opens July 1, 2026 and closes November 7, 2026. Entry fees listed by the organizer are $25.00 for the 12K and 5K, and free for the 1-mile walk/run.

The event includes these distances:

  • 12K - mixed course through oak savannah, marshes, wetlands, and prairie
  • 5K - neighborhood streets, starting and ending at the high school
  • 1 Mile - untimed walk/run, offered as a shorter option

The 12K course departs from the high school, passes through Dorothy Carnes County Park, and returns to the high school; the route was modified in 2025 because of area construction. All racecourses have awards for overall finishers and age group awards. Age groups for awards are listed as 12 and under for the 5K only, then 13-19, 20-29, 30-39, 40-49, 50-59, and 60 plus for both 5K and 12K, separated by male and female categories.
