Freedom Ultra Festival
The Freedom Ultra Festival takes place over Labor Day weekend in Bonney Lake, Washington. The event is hosted on the private Kearin Family Farm and utilizes an adjacent trail system. All participants compete on a 3.1 mile looped course, which allows runners to remain close to their gear and a central aid station throughout the duration of their event. The terrain consists of approximately 50% mixed gravel, dirt, and grass, and 50% paved trails.
The festival offers a wide variety of distances and timed events:
- 200 Mile: Features 5,231 feet of elevation gain with a 96-hour time limit.
- 100 Mile: Includes ,2615 feet of elevation gain on a fast, flat profile.
- 100K: A runnable course with 1,621 feet of total elevation gain.
- 50 Mile: Consists of 1,307 feet of elevation gain designed for consistent pacing.
- 50K: Provides a low elevation profile with 810 feet of gain.
- 24 Hour: A timed event where participants complete as many laps as possible.
- 12 Hour: A timed format focused on endurance and strategy.
- 6 Hour: A short-duration timed event for testing speed endurance.
The centralized layout is designed to accommodate self-supported runners as well as those with crews. Free camping is available on-site starting the day before the festival and continues through the end of the event.
