Fort Ord Trail Run

Fort Ord Trail Run is a two-day trail running event held at Fort Ord National Monument near Salinas, CA on February 6 and 7, 2027. The event is organized by Inside Trail Racing and uses trails under a Special Recreation Permit from the Bureau of Land Management. Racing and event operations take place around the Laguna Seca Recreation Area and the Turn 10 Shelf start/finish area.

Distances offered:

• 50K on Saturday
• 25K on Sunday
• 10K on Sunday

Timing and logistics include electronic timing provided in partnership with ultralive.net and a $3 timing fee added to entries. The 50K has an 8.5 hour time limit. Parking near the start/finish area is available for a $5 fee. Early bib pickup is scheduled the Friday before the race at The Treadmill in Carmel-by-the-Sea; additional check-in occurs race mornings at the start/finish area.

Aid stations are stocked with a variety of foods and drinks such as gels, chews, trail mix, salty snacks, soda, water, Skratch Labs hydration mix, PB&J sandwiches, fruits, and basic first aid supplies. This is a cupless event so runners must carry their own bottle or reusable cup; organizers recommend carrying at least one 20 oz bottle.

Awards include custom trophies for the top three overall male and female finishers, custom finisher medals, pint glasses for all 50K finishers, a dead last finisher award, and age-group medals awarded three deep across standard age categories. Entry fees are non-refundable; a 50% credit toward a future Inside Trail Racing event may be issued if cancellation occurs at least three weeks before the race.
