Big Sur Trail Marathon
The Big Sur Trail Marathon weekend takes place at Andrew Molera State Park in Big Sur on September 26, 2026. The event offers three distances and is limited to 300 participants.

The course follows Old Coast Road and includes sustained climbs and coastal views. The start and finish are located in the park picnic area. The course is marked with orange ribbon and uses out and back sections for some distances.
Aid stations are located at miles 2.5 for all distances; 6.5 and 10.5 for half marathoners and marathoners; and at miles 15.8, 19.7 and 23.7 for marathoners. Portable restrooms are adjacent to each aid station. The course cut off is 6.5 hours. Participants are advised to carry water.
Race materials and incentives include bibs mailed about a week before the event, T shirts for all participants, medals for marathon and half marathon finishers, and personalized award ribbons that will be mailed to top three finishers in each age group. Bib pickup is available on race day morning at the picnic area for those who do not receive a mailed bib.
Parking at Andrew Molera State Park is limited and there is a $10 per car park entry fee. Headphones and audible music devices are not allowed on the course. Dogs are not allowed on the Old Coast Road course. Visit the organization's website for the most recent information.
