Forgotten Florida, January 30 and 31, 2027
Forgotten Florida is a multi-distance trail event in Christmas, Florida, based at 3365 Taylor Creek Rd. Distances offered include:
- 100 Mile
- 50 Mile
- 15 Mile
- 8 Mile
The routes pass through Tosohatchee, Charles Bronson State Forest, Seminole Ranch, Little Big Econ State Forest and other local trails. The 100 and 50 mile courses are point-to-point, begin together, and start in Oviedo with the finish at Tosohatchee. The 50 mile is the first 50 miles of the 100 mile course; the 100 then includes a 25 mile out-and-back section with crew access for the final 50 miles. Both the 100 and 50 courses are about 80 percent trail with roughly 2 miles of pavement.
The shorter events are single loops. The course surface may include mud, grass and roots. The organizer notes abundant birdlife in the parks, and states the route is not a swamp run with pervasive water hazards.
Cutoff times are 34 hours for the 100 mile, 16 hours for the 50 mile, 5 hours for the 15 mile with an intermediate cutoff near mile 10, and 3 hours for the 8 mile.
Runners registered by December 15 are guaranteed event items listed by the organizer. A portion of race proceeds is donated to the Florida Trail Association and scheduled trail workdays are planned. Visit the organization's website for the most recent information.
