Fluted Rock Half and Full Marathon

The Fluted Rock Half and Full Marathon takes place in Kinlichee, Arizona on June 27, 2026. The event is located off Highway 264 at the Kinlichee turnoff, about 25 miles west of Window Rock. The route uses HWY 264 and a gravel road that passes the Kinlichee Chapter.

• 13.1 Miles Half Marathon

The course is an out and back layout that continues north on a gravel road with gradual rolling hills and increasing elevation on the outbound leg. At each race’s halfway turnaround point, the return leg is described as easier. Runners on the route encounter local landscape features such as the Kinlichee wash, Navajo sandstone canyons, grazing livestock, and trees. In parts of the area there are small canyons and remnants of Anasazi homes set among the sandstone.

Organizers present the races as part of promoting physical fitness and drawing on Dine teachings and stories. The event highlights Hozho Naashaa Dooleel, a concept focused on an individual’s path.
