Flint Hills 50 and Marathon
The event offers two distances:
- 50 Miler
- Marathon (26.2 miles)
Both races take place on mostly dirt roads in the Flint Hills near Manhattan, Kansas. The 50 miler uses two 25-mile loops with five aid stations on each loop. The marathon covers a 1.2 mile connector loop plus the 25-mile loop to total 26.2 miles and provides four aid stations along the course. Each loop has more than 2000 feet of elevation change.
Packet pickup is available Friday, April 10 from 4:00 pm to 7:00 pm at Manhattan Running Company, 1129 Garden Way, Manhattan, KS 66502. Race day packet pickup is located at Green Valley Community Center, 3770 Green Valley Rd, Manhattan, KS 66502, and is available before the races.
Cut-off times are 14 hours for the 50 miler and 13.5 hours for the marathon. Food and non-alcoholic drinks are provided after the race. Every finisher receives a belt buckle marked with the specific race. Winners receive a painted rock from the course; participants who complete the event five times receive a painted rock noting all completed years. All proceeds support local schools.
