Finger Lakes 50s : July 4, 2026
The Finger Lakes 50s are trail races held in Finger Lakes National Forest near Hector, NY, with the start and finish at The Potomac Group Campground. The event is part of the Finger Lakes Runners Club Trail Circuit and includes camping for race weekend. At the finish there will be a BBQ, awards, and a gathering area.
Distances offered:
- 50 miles: three 16.5 mile loops plus a half mile baby loop
- 50K: two 16.5 mile loops
- 25K: one 16.5 mile loop
Each loop is 16.5 miles and is composed of about 85% single-track trail, 5% grassy pastures with grazing cows, and 10% dirt and paved roads. Each loop includes approximately 1,292 feet of climb. All three races use the same loop course. There are four fully stocked aid stations on the course.
Registration information notes a waitlist for full fields. Runners on the waitlist may be invited as spots open; credit cards are charged only after accepting an invitation. The 25K and the 50K/50M races are managed on separate waitlists. Prior to the race, 50K and 50M entrants may change their distance at the registration table; 25K entrants may not. Changing distance after completing the second loop is permitted for 50K and 50M entrants but will make them ineligible for awards. Uncompleted loops are recorded as DNF.
