Finger Lakes 50s
The Finger Lakes 50s is an ultramarathon event held on July 4, 2026, in the Finger Lakes National Forest near Hector, NY. The races use a common loop course that starts and finishes at the Potomac Group Campground. The loop measures 16.5 miles and combines single-track trail, grassy pasture, and dirt and paved roads.
The course surface and profile include:
- 25K : one 16.5-mile loop.
- 50K : two loops.
- 50 miles : three loops plus a half-mile baby loop.
Each loop contains approximately 1,292 feet of climb. Trail running makes up most of the route, with about 85% single-track, roughly 5% grassy pastures that may include grazing cows and cow pies, and about 10% dirt and paved roads. Runners encounter four fully stocked aid stations on the course. The 50K and 50-mile entries may change distance at the registration table prior to the start and may change distance after completing the second loop, but post-change finishers may be ineligible for awards. Any uncompleted loop will be recorded as a DNF.
The event is part of the Finger Lakes Runners Club Trail Circuit. Camping is available in the national forest for the race weekend. At the finish there will be a barbecue and awards. Visit the organization's website for the most recent information.
