Event overview
Finger Lakes 50s is a trail race held Saturday, July 4, 2026, in the Finger Lakes National Forest near Hector, NY. The event offers three distances:
- 50 miles
- 50K (approx. 32.9 miles)
- 25K (approx. 16.5 miles)
All three races are part of the Finger Lakes Runners Club Trail Circuit. Camping is available in the Finger Lakes National Forest for race weekend. At the finish there are awards and a BBQ.
Course and logistics
All races use the same 16.5-mile loop course that starts and finishes at The Potomac Group Campground off Potomac Road. Terrain is approximately 85% single-track trail, 5% grassy pastures (including grazing cows and cow pies), and 10% dirt and paved roads. Each loop includes about 1,292 feet of climb. The 25K covers one loop, the 50K covers two loops, and the 50-mile option covers three loops plus a half-mile baby loop. Runners will encounter four fully stocked aid stations on course.
Registration details include a waitlist; there are separate waitlists for the 25K and the 50K/50M races. Race directors may allow distance changes for 50K and 50-mile entrants at the registration table before the race begins; 25K registrants may not change to a longer distance.
