Cayuga Trails

Cayuga Trails is a trail ultramarathon held at Old Y Camp in Robert Treman State Park, Ithaca, NY on Saturday, June 5, 2027. The event offers two distances:

  • 50K: 31.6 miles / ~6,882' elevation gain
  • 50M: 50 miles / ~10,203' elevation gain

The courses run almost entirely on trail (about 95% trail, 5% paved). Runners follow miles of singletrack that pass dozens of waterfalls, historic stone stairs, and mixed eastern forest. The route includes a few out-and-back overlaps with other entrants.

Support includes multiple aid stations with water, an E-Drink such as Tailwind, Coke, and assorted foods including PB&J, bacon, potatoes, soup, and fruit; gluten free options are attempted. Entrants may leave drop bags at the Y Camp staging area (miles 10, 25, 35) and one set will be shuttled to Buttermilk (miles 15, 20.5, 40, 45.5); Buttermilk drop bags will not return to the staging area until that aid station closes in the evening and unclaimed bags will not be returned.

Early packet pickup at the Y Camp staging area and race day packet pickup at the staging area are provided. Poles are allowed, pacers are not, and crews are permitted though parking is limited and the entry road can be tight. Capacity targets a 400 runner start and organizers typically advance about 40 waitlist entries based on historical no-show rates. A finisher’s medal, post-race food, and event schwag are part of the event offerings. Race photos and preliminary results from 2026 are available.
