Fineview Step Challenge

Fineview Citizens Council is hosting its 31st Annual Urban Step & Trail Challenge on October 3, 2026 at Fineview Overlook on Catoma Street, Pittsburgh, PA 15214. The event takes place on public streets, hills, and staircases within the Fineview neighborhood.

Participants will ascend a course that includes 12 public staircases totaling more than 1,600 steps. One stair set on Rising Main Avenue contains 371 steps, described as the equivalent of a 17 story building. The route offers views of the surrounding area as it moves through the neighborhood.

Registration opens June 5, 2026 and closes June 29, 2026. Registration fees listed for the running races are $40 for the 5 Mile event and $20 for the 2 Mile event. All proceeds benefit Fineview Citizens Council programming for community beautification, preserving affordability, and neighborhood events.
