Course and additional information
The course runs along the banks of Bull Run in a 425 acre park. Terrain includes forested fire roads, twisty hiking trails (including the Bull Run Occoquan Trail), stream crossings, grassy fields, old dirt roads, and minimal pavement. Runners will encounter rocks and roots and may see wildlife such as deer, beaver, turkey, osprey, and great blue heron. Several spectator-friendly areas are designated for family and friends.
Race rules and event details include: portable in-ear music devices are not allowed; pets, pacers, and baby strollers are not permitted; race numbers must be worn visibly on the front; outside assistance is allowed only within 50 meters of aid stations; there are no cut-off times; racers must notify officials if they drop out and must stay on designated trails.
