Fall Backyard Burn Trail Run at Hemlock Overlook

The Fall Backyard Burn is a series of trail running races in Northern Virginia. This Hemlock Overlook event is scheduled for Sunday, November 15, 2026, at Hemlock Overlook in Clifton, Virginia.

The venue sits along the banks of the historic Bull Run in a 425 acre park where sightings of deer, beaver, turkey, osprey and great blue heron are reported. The course is routed largely on hiking trails including the Bull Run Occoquan Trail, old dirt roads, and open fields. Runners encounter rocks, roots, stream crossings, grassy sections, and short stretches of minimal pavement. Several spectator areas are designated along the route.

Elevation for each course is provided: approximately 600 feet for the 5.2 mile option and 1,200 feet for the 9.5 mile option.
