Evergreen Trail Race Series
The Evergreen Trail Race Series is a set of four organized trail events hosted by the Evergreen Park & Recreation District across parks and open space in the Evergreen area. The series offers multiple race distances at four separate race days and is open to participants ages 5 and up. A registration package is available that covers all four races.
Courses and event features vary by location. The Elk Meadow course starts on Pioneer Trail and runs clockwise around the meadow, with an initial downhill along Highway 74, tree-lined sections at the foot of the mountain, and a return to Pioneer Trail. Alderfer / 3 Sisters Park offers 5K and 10K courses through park terrain; that event lists onsite rec trailer games, sponsor and vendor tents, and refreshments for runners and spectators. The Staunton State Park day includes 5K and 10 mile distances, onsite vendor tents and refreshments, and is designated as a cup free event; participants are asked to bring a water bottle. The Bergen Peak day includes a 5K and a half marathon course that ascends more than 1,300 feet via switchbacks on Too Long Trail, reaching a peak elevation just under 9,000 feet over an approximately 11 mile route.
