Elden Ridge Run - October 17, 2026

Elden Ridge Run is a half marathon near Flagstaff, Arizona that begins at the Sandy Seep Trailhead. The course leaves open meadows and ponderosa stands, crosses a power line access road, then turns onto Christmas Tree trail before joining Elden Lookout trail for the climb to the summit of Mt. Elden. The route then descends via the lookout tower road to Sunset trail and continues on New Heart trail with views of the red and orange cliffs of Little Elden.

There is a single aid station located at approximately 6 miles with water, fuel options, and an electrolyte beverage. A strict cutoff is enforced at about 5 miles at the summit of Elden with a 2 hour limit to reach that point; the total race cutoff is 4 hours. Volunteers are stationed at several intersections to direct runners and monitor cutoffs.

Parking is at the primitive Sandy Seep Trailhead with limited space for about 30 vehicles; high clearance is recommended and carpooling is suggested. No race day registration is available. Other notes: no pacers, outside aid is not allowed, poles are permitted if carried for the entire race, bibs will use gun timing only, and two portable toilets with sanitizer will be available at start and finish. Weather in October can be cool with potentially gusty winds at the summit. Visit the organization's website for the most recent information.
