Groovin' in the Aspens : Flagstaff, AZ

Groovin' in the Aspens is a trail running event at the Fort Valley Trailhead in Flagstaff, Arizona, organized by BEAR JAW EVENTS. The event offers multiple looped trail distances through aspen and pine stands in Flagstaff's trail systems.

Distances offered:

  • 50K, two Black loops and one Blue loop
  • 30K, one Black loop and one Blue loop
  • 20K, mostly single track with some jeep roads, 900 feet elevation gain
  • 10K, single track and jeep road mix, 682 feet elevation gain
  • 6K, smooth green loop around the expo area, relatively flat

Aid stations will be placed along the course and will be no more than 7 miles apart. Packet pickup is available on the Friday before the event at Kickstand Kafe in Flagstaff and also on the day of the event at the Fort Valley Trailhead. Registered participants receive a custom finisher's medal, a custom event T-shirt, and pre- and post-race snacks such as granola bars, fruit, water, and Gatorade; these items will not be mailed to non-attendees.

Race-day registration is available at the Fort Valley Trailhead and organizers accept cash, check, and credit card. Wheelchairs, strollers, and wagons are welcome but some trail sections may be difficult to navigate. Visit the organization's website for the most recent information.
