The El Diablo Trail offers two trail race distances on Jersey’s north coast. Distances and basic facts:

  • Half Marathon - 13.1 miles, elevation 2096 ft, cut-off 4 hours
  • 10k - 10 km, elevation 700 ft, cut-off 2 hours

Starts are at Les Platons (Half Marathon) and Crabbe (10k). Both races finish at Milano Bars. Entries include a race T-shirt, medal, insurance cover, a fully marked course, and refreshments (water, Coke and sweets) at aid stations and the finish. GPX files and course maps are available.

Course and logistics

The course follows the rugged north-coast trails and passes Bonne Nuit Bay, Grève de Lecq, Sorel Point, the Mourier Valley, Devils Hole, Plémont Bay, Grosnez and L’Etacq, with steep climbs and descents on clifftop paths. Mandatory kit for both distances includes trail shoes; a warm top layer; a foil blanket; a rain jacket if raining; a water receptacle of at least 1 L; a cup for drinks; on-course calories; and a charged phone with What3Words. Kit checks take place at registration.

An optional bus from the finish back to the start is available for a fee. Organisers encourage car-sharing and provide taxi lists and community chat options. Visit the organization's website for the most recent information.
