EcoTrail Wicklow

EcoTrail Wicklow is a multi-distance trail running event based at Bray Seafront in County Wicklow, Ireland. The event offers a range of distances and routes that move from coastal promenade into the Wicklow Mountains, combining sea views, forest trails, mountain climbs, and historic estate paths.

All races start and finish beside the sea at Bray Seafront. Race headquarters is located near the bandstand along the promenade and a bag drop is provided by the start and finish area. Courses climb Bray Head early on to move runners from coastal terrain into wild mountain and forest sections.

Distances offered include:

  • 80 km
  • 46 km
  • 30 km
  • 19 km
  • 10 km

Course design and features vary by distance. The 10 km route is mostly off road and reduced on-road running. Longer routes include climbs of the Sugarloaf peaks, loops around Little Sugarloaf, trails through Kilruddery Estate and technical mixed terrain across the Wicklow Mountains. The 80 km route is nearly 80 km with over 2600 m elevation gain.

Organizers provide clearly marked and marshalled routes, finish-line refreshments, a bespoke running T-shirt and a finisher’s memento in partnership with Wicklow Wolf. Example official cut-off limits are published for each distance, and the event draws participants from Ireland and abroad. Visit the organization's website for the most recent information.
