Dirty Feet Heartbreak 100 km, relay and associated races

This event takes place at the Stake Lake Nordic Centre near Kamloops, BC. It offers multiple trail formats: 25 km, 50 km, 100 km, relay teams, and a 25 km night race.

Courses mix singletrack and double track with hills, rocks and roots. The layout returns frequently to the main parking area and race headquarters so runners can access drop bags and their vehicles. Elevation gain is approximately 2000 m for the 100 km and 1000 m for the 50 km.

Relay formats use defined legs. The 100 km course consists of eight legs alternating 10 km and 15 km segments. The 50 km uses four legs that include 10 km and 15 km sections. Numerous aid stations are placed along the routes and runners can access drop bags at headquarters between legs.

Mandatory equipment and rules include carrying at least 500 ml of electrolytes with capacity for 1 L of liquids, a light jacket after nightfall, and a headlamp required in the evening. Pacers are not allowed and crew access is limited to the start/finish headquarters. Event swag includes Dirty Feet items, Shuswap Coffee, personalized bibs for early registrants, finisher medals for selected distances and a belt buckle for solo 100 km finishers.
